Chelsea Market and the Museum of Food and Drink host “Using Fungi to Re-Design the Urban Food Chain, as part of a four-part educational series that explores indigenous foodways. This event is an introduction to turning waste into abundance with an evening of mushroom education, food, and music. 

Join William Padilla-Brown, multidisciplinary citizen scientist and founder of MycoSymbiotics, and world-renowned filmmaker and ethnobotanist, Anthony Basil Rodriguez, for a conversation on the benefits of creating a personal food chain while living in an urban jungle. Following the conversation, William, who is also a rapper, will perform some of his original music while guests enjoy a drink and a tasting of mushroom empanadas made by Chelsea Market’s tenant, Eat Offbeat.
