Secrets of the Dead Short Horror Film Festival Celebrates 10 Years of Spooking NYC (World/Inferno Show)

Secrets of the Dead, a short horror film festival, will celebrate ten years of shocking New Yorkers with short films from all over the world.  This year’s festival offers up spooky shorts representing the depraved creative underbellies of Japan, Austria, England, Chicago, Columbus, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and Long Island City selected from an international call for entries.  The program includes narrative, documentary, and animated films.  In observance of Hallowmas, our screening on November 1st will include a live musical performance by Franz Nicolay, formerly of The World/Inferno Friendship Society, and a screening of Jeffrey Wengrofsky’s film about Jack Terricloth.

Directors and films include: Meg Case* & Brad Porter* (Brooklyn), Meshes of the After; Tom Griffin* (Queens), Screamer Box; Justin Morales* (Queens), Graphic Violence, Kaichi Saito (Tokyo, Japan), Love Hotel: The Guide to Japanese Midnight Culture; Gaines Strouse (Columbus, Ohio), Hamlet’s Living Dead; Christian Schonleitner, (Wien, Austria), And Now the Bacon; Cally Trench (High Wycombe, UK), Burial; Jim Vendiola (Chicago), Pretty Pickle; and Jeffrey Wengrofsky* (Manhattan), The Devil and Mr. Berger and Jack Terricloth is Alive and Well in Gotham.  This program is curated by Jeffrey Wengrofsky. There will also be a Q and A with these (*) directors.
