THE STROLL directed by Kristen Lovell and Zackary Drucker
The history of New York’s Meatpacking District, told from the perspective of transgender sex workers who lived and worked there. Filmmaker Kristen Lovell, who walked “The Stroll” for a decade, reunites her community to recount the violence, policing, homelessness, and gentrification they overcame to build a movement for transgender rights. The Stroll premieres on HBO and will be available to stream on Max this summer. Courtesy of HBO Documentary Films.
Screening the HBO Documentary Film The Stroll in the heart of the Meatpacking District will highlight the substantial changes that have occurred in the neighborhood over the years, spotlight the role the district played in the history of trans and sex worker rights, and provide an opportunity for a communal celebration of a compelling new documentary at the start of LGBTQ+ Pride Month in NYC.
