RECONFIGURATION ALBUM RELEASE SHOW

June 1, 2024 at 9 PM at The Cutting Room

An evening of live music from Riley Burke’s debut album Reconfiguration

with songwriter-comedian Jess Elgene

Riley Burke is launching her debut record and making a statement on the first day of Pride Month as a queer artist who embraces her full humanity with a release show at The Cutting Room on June 1 at 9 PM.

Reconfiguration is a 13-song album that addresses light-hearted topics like emotions mapping onto queer bodies, illness from repression, and female power. (She is Irish after all).

Burke will begin the show with St. Anthony, the record’s intimate opening ballad, before her nine-piece band trickles in during the 90-minute performance. The first set will conclude with the album’s fierce closing track (an anthem for marginalized groups and a call to action) I Know How These Things Go. Following this song, Burke will open the second set with a stripped-down acoustic song and intentionally close the second set with the Springsteen classic Land of Hope and Dreams in a Joni Mitchell/Brandi Carlile-esq jam session emphasizing community and hope.

Jess Elgene, a trailblazing queer artist named “Creator to Watch” by the New York Comedy Festival, will open the show with music, standup, and characters.
