In celebration of Joni Mitchell’s 79th birthday and in continuation of her ongoing, ten-year exploration of the music of Joni Mitchell, New York pianist and vocalist, Hannah Reimann presents a feature-length concert performance of Mitchell’s work entitled Both Sides Now at 54 Below Supper Club. This event will celebrate Mitchell’s actual birthday on Monday, November 7th, 2022.

Both Sides Now features Reimann as lead vocalist, lead pianist and performing dulcimer with guest instrumentalists Michele Temple (Pere Ubu) on rhythm and open-tuned acoustic guitar, Micah Burgess (School of Rock, Petula Clark) on electric guitar, Scott Chasolen (The Machine, Yesterdays) on Keys, Mike Viseglia (Kinky Boots, Suzanne Vega) on bass, Aaron Johnston (David Byrne’s American Utopia and Brazilian Girls) on drums, plus some possible surprise guests TBA. Expanding on Reimann’s previous shows and multiple collaborations with Temple and other artists, this birthday salute to Mitchell will feature over a dozen classic singles from her first seven albums in their original arrangements and keys including “A Case of You,” “River,” “Cactus Tree,” and full band renderings of Joni’s work with the L.A. Express for the albums, Court and Spark and Miles of Aisles including “Help Me,” “Free Man in Paris,” Rainy Night House,” “Woodstock,” and more, and, of course, “Both Sides Now.” This authentic homage to the incomparable Joni Mitchell has been praised as “…note-perfect.
