Marble Church To Commemorate World AIDS Day in Conversation ‘I Am What I Am: Queer, Questioning & Christian’

(New York, N.Y.) To commemorate World AIDS Day, Marble Collegiate Church will present “I Am What I Am: Queer, Questioning & Christian” on Thursday, December 1 at 7 p.m.

 As part of Marble Church’s ongoing Racial Justice Series, Michael Anderson, Adjunct Professor at The New School and Union Theological Institute; Rev. Shawn Torres-Anderson, Associate Pastor of Operations at Bethany Baptist Church in Newark, N.J.; and Sonya Shields, social justice and LGBTQ+ advocate, will participate in a conversation focused on the stigma that follows people of all generations living with HIV/AIDS. The conversation will celebrate queer resilience and the assurance that all people are created in God’s image. Special musical performances will honor all the lives lost to the HIV/AIDS epidemic.
