Marble Church Continues Celebrating Pride With Rev. Chad Tanaka Pack

As part of its continued celebration of Pride 2023, Marble Collegiate Church will welcome Rev. Chad Tanaka Pack, LGBTQIA+ leader and former Marble Associate Minister, on Sunday, June 18, starting at 10 a.m. at 1 W. 29th Street, on the corner of Fifth Avenue.
Deeply committed to social change, primarily through faith-based organizations, Rev. Tanaka Pack will begin Marble’s 10 O’Clock hour with “Labrythnical,” whose title plays with the fact that Marble is one of the very few places of worship in the United States with an indoor labyrinth. Immediately following, during the 11 a.m. Worship in Marble’s historic Sanctuary, Rev. Tanaka Pack will preach “Irreverent Relevance,” exploring how progressive Christians proclaim their faith in the 21st Century.
As we lift up this year’s Pride theme, “Joy in Resilience” and remember those who came before us, two enormous panels from the National AIDS Memorial Quilt will be on display in the Sanctuary throughout June.
Marble Pride celebrations continue on Saturday, June 24, at 4:30 p.m., as the Marble congregation, friends and community members serve water at the 31st Annual NYC Dyke March on Fifth Avenue in front of the church. The month-long slate of Pride-focused events culminates in Marble’s annual Pride Service on Sunday, June 25, at 11 a.m. For more information, please visit www.MarbleChurch.org.
Marble Collegiate Church, a diverse, inclusive congregation of God’s people, maintains membership in two denominations: The United Church of Christ and The Reformed Church in America, making it North America’s oldest Protestant congregation with continual service.
