LOCAL 802 AFM and THE NYC MAYOR’S OFFICE OF MEDIA & ENTERTAINMENT Celebrate PRIDE

Associated Musicians of Greater New York—Local 802, American Federation of Musicians—welcomes our neighbors of Hell’s Kitchen and throughout the area in celebration of LGBTQ Pride. Join us in the union’s historic Club Room for a free evening featuring professional musicians and vocalists of the Queer community (and its allies), all part of the New York Music Month festival!

As a symbol of solidarity with the artists and the multiple genres in which they work, the evening will be varied. First, a chamber music ensemble, of the esteemed ChamberQUEER group, directed by violist Kal Sugatski (Orchestra of St. Lukes, NY Phil), with violinist Cenovia Cummins (Concertmaster  NY Pops) and Maria Bella Jeffers (studio, touring). This set will be followed by guest speakers, and then a special QUEERCabaret featuring 2024 MAC Award winner Maria Gentile as well as noted performers Anthony Fett, and Susan Campanaro as “Lavinia Draper”. Lynn Portas, pianist/vocalist/musical director, will lead a sizzling trio brandishing DIVA Jazz Orchestra drummer Sherrie Maricle and Broadway bassist Lexi Bodick.

As the days of Pride Month point toward the jubilant NYC March, come revel with us!
