Leveraging Psychology for LGBTQIA+ Community Support | APF Springfield Town Hall

This event will bring together psychologists, mental health professionals, and allies to openly discuss how psychology can meaningfully support the LGBTQIA+ community and the clinicians and researchers who support them.
We will take a multifaceted, evidence-based approach, looking at:
– How psychology can offer evidence-based approaches that support mental health and resilience within LGBTQIA+ communities.
– The unique challenges faced by LGBTQIA+ clinicians in supporting their clients while navigating their individual experiences as part of the community.
– Capacity building and establishing trust between psychological practice and communities which have been historically disenfranchised and discriminated against, especially those with intersectional identities.
