The Right Rev. Matthew Heyd, the 17th Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of New York, and the Cathedral Church of Saint John the Divine invite you to join us for a special Noonday Prayer Service to celebrate trans joy and resilience. This celebration, which comes a few days before the International Transgender Day of Visibility, will feature a sermon by Aaron Scott, Staff Officer for Gender Justice at The Episcopal Church. The Rt. Rev. Mary Glasspool, Bishop Assistant, the first openly lesbian Episcopal bishop in the Anglican Communion who has oversight of the Diocese’s LGBTQ+ Concerns Committee, will also be in attendance. The service will include music from the TRANScend Ambassadors, New York’s first trans/gender-expansive classical vocal ensemble. There will be a free lunch with delicious Latino flavors while reflecting on and celebrating the ongoing work of gender justice in the church!
