Hudson Ballet Theatre presents: Icarus
HBT’s Icarus, choreographed by director and Bronx resident, Ho-Shia Aaron Thao is loosely based on the Greek mythology of Icarus and his father, Daedalus. This version of the tale highlights the generational gap between immigrant parents, who struggled to survive, and their American born children, who are tasked with fulfilling the American Dream. The ballet challenges the notions of failure vs success and the burden of self-fulfillment vs familial hopes and responsibilities.
