East Hampton Historical Society to Host 19th Annual Antiques & Design Show Benefit

East Hampton Historical Society has announced their 19^th Annual Antiques & Design Show Benefit, the region’s premier showcase of antiques and mid-century decorative arts for the home and garden, will take place on Saturday, July 12^th from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and on Sunday, July 13^th from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. The annual benefit event will kick off with a Preview Cocktail Party on Friday, July 11^th from 6 – 8:30 p.m. The event returns to the historic Mulford Farm at 10 James Lane in East Hampton, a fitting venue as a tribute to East Hampton’s rich heritage. The three-acre property, maintained by the Historical Society, features one of the most intact colonial farmsteads in America. This setting provides a perfect backdrop for the elegant white tents that house the show’s treasures, making for a picturesque time to observe and shop.

“The East Hampton Historical Society stewards a collection of nearly 20,000 artifacts, which will soon be housed in a new state-of-the-art storage center on Mulford Farm where the Antiques & Design Show will take place this July. Antiques provide a tangible connection with the past so it’s perfect for us to host a fundraising benefit that enables people to add to their own personal collections,” shares East Hampton Historical Society Executive Director Steve Long.

Throughout the weekend an impressive lineup of more than 50 antiques and art dealers will showcase vintage decorative items for the home and garden, encompassing a wide range of styles from classic to contemporary. Attendees can expect to find everything from classic rattan and bamboo furniture to intricate lighting, textiles, and architectural elements. Other highlights include American and European country-decorated furniture, Art Deco and Moderne pieces, garden ornaments, wrought-iron accessories, industrial items, paintings, trade signs, period jewelry, weathervanes, and mirrors. With such a diverse collection, the show promises something for every taste and interest. There are items for seasoned collectors and casual enthusiasts.

“Over the years, it’s become a highly-curated event that attracts the top designers who love supporting the Historical Society and shopping the show,” says Debbie Druker, President of the Historical Society’s Board of Trustees. “The designers purchase tickets to the Preview Party so they won’t miss out on the perfect item they’re seeking for their clients.”

This year, The East Hampton Historical Society is thrilled to have one of the most respected and celebrated names in interior design David Kleinberg serve as Honorary Chair. Kleinberg is a member of the Interior Design Magazine Hall of Fame and has been honored with the Albert Hadley Lifetime Achievement Award by the New York School of Interior Design. He was first named to Architectural Digest’s ‘The AD 100” list in 2012 and became a member of Elle Décor A-List 2011. Kleinberg has participated in the Kips Bay Decorator Show House throughout his career and his work is published internationally. He published his monograph Traditional Now: Interiors by David Kleinberg with The Monacelli Press in 2011.
