A film presentation of scenes, making of the Fast film, feedback discussion, and Double dutch themed raffle! (For kids, teens, and adults)

Join rising filmmaker Rachel Johnson in viewing select scenes from her short film Fast and share your thoughts on the film so far! Here’s a great chance to learn more about the making of film made in Brooklyn from an up and coming filmmaker. A double dutch themed raffle will be held! Light refreshments will be provided.

About the Film: When Tatiana, a sharp girl and the leader of the pack, meets up with her friends in the playground to jump rope, they encounter a neighborhood menace, and Tatiana must find a way for them to overcome it.

A narrative short film exploring Black girlhood. Fast not only highlights the positive youth development that the double dutch sport brings to the Black American community, especially young girls, but also it sheds light on the concerning factors that young children have to face in times of play and interrogates labels often assigned to Black girls.
