Coney Island USA Hosts Weekly Free RuPaul’s Drag Race Viewing Party—The Only Weekly Drag Show in Southern Brooklyn

Brooklyn, NYConey Island USA is proud to present Southern Brooklyn’s only weekly drag show with its free RuPaul’s Drag Race Viewing Parties, held every Friday at 8:00 PM at Coney Island USA’s Freak Bar (1208 Surf Ave, Brooklyn, NY). Hosted by beloved Coney Island drag artists Nancy NoGood and Maxxxim, this event is a celebration of queer art, visibility, and community in a part of Brooklyn where such representation is more vital than ever.

As one of the only recurring drag events in Southern Brooklyn (which predominantly voted Republican in this past election), this series provides a crucial safe space for LGBTQ+ individuals and allies in a borough where queer visibility remains limited—and, in some areas, actively opposed. The event not only unites fans for the latest Drag Race fabulosity and drama, but also unites the local community and amplifies the voices of local drag artists, reinforcing the importance of queer artistry and self-expression in every corner of New York City.

“In neighborhoods where LGBTQ+ spaces are rare, and where many voted against our rights, our presence is resistance,” says host and producer Maxxxim. “Drag has always been about joy, defiance, and community—and we’re bringing that energy to Coney Island every single week.”

The series is co-produced by Coney Island USA, Tawk Productions, and Qaravan (formerly known as RUSA LGBTQ+), three organizations committed to fostering queer culture, visibility, and inclusion:

●  Coney Island USA is a nonprofit arts organization dedicated to preserving the legacy of Coney Island’s unique cultural history while supporting innovative artistic expression. Known for its legendary Mermaid Parade and year-round programming, Coney Island USA continues to be a champion of underground and countercultural performance art.

●  Tawk Productions is a Brooklyn-based event production company focused on creating inclusive and celebratory spaces for drag, theater, and live performances throughout New York City. Founded by Maxim Ibadov (Maxxxim), Tawk Productions is dedicated to amplifying queer and other marginalized voices and fostering community through entertainment and activism.

●  Qaravan, formerly known as RUSA LGBTQ+, is the nation’s oldest and biggest non-profit organization supporting queer immigrants and asylum seekers from post-Soviet countries. Through advocacy, community-building, and cultural programming that includes Brighton Beach Pride, Qaravan provides a vital lifeline for LGBTQ+ individuals navigating life in the U.S.

Held at the iconic Coney Island USA (1208 Surf Ave, Brooklyn, NY) right in the heart of the Amusement District, each viewing party features electrifying performances, an amazing selections of locally brewed beers and wine, games and giveaways, pinball machines, and, of course, a big screen to catch every sickening moment of the Emmy-Award winning RuPaul’s Drag Race. But don’t wait—the series runs only until late April or early May, when the current season ends. Once we’re gone, we won’t be back until next year!

Join us in making history every Friday night—because queer joy belongs everywhere, especially where it’s least expected.
