
CinéSalon Series: Magnetic Melvil Poupaud

This spring FIAF highlights French actor and filmmaker, Melvil Poupaud. Selected by Poupaud himself, this CinéSalon series offers an overview of his rich and diverse career.
Poupaud began his career as a child actor, performing in several films by Raul Ruiz. Within just ten years, Poupaud rose to fame, with career highlights including Eric Rohmer’s A Summer Tale, Xavier Dolan’s Laurence Anyways, and François Ozon’s By the Grace of God. Poupaud brings a charismatic mix of sensibility and intelligence to the screen, embodying characters with a magnetic force and never shying away from unconventional roles.
The series begins Tuesday, March 7 with the NY premiere of Carine Tardieu’s The Young Lovers. Melvil Poupaud will be in attendance for a Q&A following the 7:30pm screening.
