Centennial Birthday Bash
Honor Shirley Chisholm’s legacy, learn about her and the parks history while commemorating the 100th anniversary of New York State Parks!
Kayaking on the Bay| 10am-12pm. No registration required, but participants must wear secure shoes that they do not mind getting wet/muddy.
Guided Hikes:
Guided Bird Walk | 10am – 12pm This will take place on the Fountain Avenue side of the park, along both paved and gravel trails with moderate elevation. We will have binoculars and bird guides
Wellness Walk with Shirley Chisholm Institute featured guest Miko Branch | 2pm-3pm This will be a 45 minute hike along paved and gravel trails featuring Miko Branch, Co-Founder and CEO of Ms. Jessie’s and SCCI Board Member discussing her business, challenges with mental health, and what she has learned about self-care

Slow Bicycle Race | 2pm
Kid’s Bike Raffle | Winners will be drawn at 3:30pm and notified by phone. Stop by the Bike Library to enter to win a refurbished kids Bicycle , 1 raffle ticket per attendee., child must be present to enter.
Environmental Learning Centers | Open all day. Drop by to learn about Shirley Chisholm’s life and legacy and the history of NY State Parks.
Festivities at Penn Pier | 1-4pm
Live performances by Science of Music Steelpan orchestra and United Steppers!
Tablers with fun activities, giveaways, and crafts including: Brooklyn Book Bodega, Jamaica Bay Rockaway Parks Conservancy and so many more!
