Because, Solidarity – A Night of Storytelling and Community

Brooklyn, NY – February 18, 2025 – Gallery Particulier is proud to present Because, Solidarity, the latest edition of our Collective Tales storytelling series. This special event will take place on February 18, 2025, at 281 Maple St, Brooklyn, NY 11225, and will be MCed by Comrade Cav, a celebrated figure in Brooklyn’s music scene and a talented writer.
“Solidarity is a shared commitment where everyone involved contributes, supports, and strengthens each other in pursuit of a common goal..” — Justin Freeman, Executive Director, Gallery Particulier
We live in uncertain times. The future of our democracy is at risk, and the civil rights of many are under threat. In New York City, undocumented families face constant fear as raids and crackdowns disrupt their lives and jeopardize their futures. Throughout history, solidarity has been a powerful force in protecting communities from injustice, standing as a shield against oppression.
Because, Solidarity will explore how mutual support has helped people in our community navigate hardship and how we can harness it to confront today’s challenges. The evening will feature personal stories from community organizers and everyday New Yorkers, shedding light on the power of collective action. As with past editions, the event will include an interactive activity, inviting the audience to engage in an experience that deepens our understanding of solidarity.
Guiding us through the night will be Comrade Cav, whose dynamic presence and deep connection to Brooklyn’s creative and activist communities will bring an electrifying energy to the event.
