After a sold-out run at Provincetown’s Red Room, actor and comedian Austin Jennings Boykin is bringing his hit solo show, A Gay Masseur’s Guide to Happy Endings, to New York for a two-night workshop production at The Chain Theatre (312 W. 36th St., 4th Floor) on November 12 and 13 at 7:30 p.m. as part of the venue’s Factory Series.

Written and performed by Boykin, the darkly funny and unflinchingly honest piece peels back the towel on the world of gay massage—where desire, shame, and survival collide. Through razor-sharp humor and startling vulnerability, Boykin explores what it means to seek connection in a profession built on touch.

A familiar face from FX, HBO, CBS, and Amazon, Boykin’s work onstage and in New York’s queer comedy scene has earned praise for its mix of sharp storytelling and emotional candor.

Directed by Joe DeStefano, the production balances comedy with introspection, capturing the play’s unique rhythm between laughter and discomfort. The result is a raw, revealing night of theater that’s as seductive as it is soul-searching.

Performances are November 12 and 13 at 7:30 p.m. at The Chain Theatre.
